Food Forum for the Future

The spirit of innovation and community collaboration was thriving at the recent Emerging Supplier Forum here at the Park, where local businesses and industry leaders gathered to explore the future of food production and supplier relationships.

In informative sessions led by Foodstuffs North Island and the Food Innovation Network, attendees had the unique opportunity to delve into the detail of supplier models and processes, with first hand information kindly provided from the local New World store owner here in Kaikohe.

The narrative woven throughout the event underscored FoodStuffs North Island's focus on nurturing small and medium enterprises that are pioneering innovative products.

Their commitment extends beyond mere informational support; they actively engage with businesses, guiding them through the journey of becoming suppliers to their network of stores, including New World, Pak n Save, and Four Square.

This inclusive approach allows for a localised start, catering to the unique needs of businesses and enabling a manageable growth trajectory.

Feedback from attendees on the day was positive, with information released regarding the 2024 Emerging Supplier competition raising excitement across the room. Previous winners include the Northland brand Vince, and serves as a springboard of opportunity for aspiring suppliers, offering a platform to showcase their innovations and aspirations.
